The big amazing Log Jam CD cover competition vote thing!

July 23rd, 2009

As some of you may already know, since there have been 6 months of Log Jam now, we thought we’d mark the occasion by producing a CD of the best bits, and some little art books of the best scribbles. We held a competition at the last Log Jam, to see what CD cover ideas you lot could come up with. We’ve picked our favourite five, so now we’re leaving it to you to choose a winner!

Which should make the cover for the highly anticipated (citation needed) best of Log Jam cd?

Log Jam – La Fête de la Musique

June 4th, 2009

Well, it’s been a bit of a long wait, but we’re finally creeping around the last bend towards the next Log Jam, which we are calling La Fête de la Musique, in honour of the worldwide festival which coincidentally takes place on the same day.

Log Jam 5

There will be plenty of fun to go round and we normally overdose pretty badly and still have loads left over, so come and have some! If you don’t know what Log Jam is, take a look at the previous blog entries and galleries. Alternatively, check out this 5 minute sensory blast from our friends at FUD productions, who kindly filmed the last Log Jam and edited the footage down to this little treat:

10.5.09 – Log Jam IV – A New Hope

May 20th, 2009

Wellity wellity wellity. We did it again! We did a Log Jam! All over the floor… sorry, we’ll clean it up tomorrow, honest. In the mean time, we’ve got lots of the lovely mess to share with you. Starting with the bit you’ve all been on the edge of your seats waiting for… LogCast 4!! It’s in two parts again, and can be downloaded in mp3 form from our audio directory. (I should probably revise this soon, as it’s getting a bit crowded in there…). Alternatively, make yourself a lovely cup of tea, put your feet up and click plaaaaayyyyy!

Lovely pictures from out of cameras, and a selection of the most impressive artworks, can be found in the Photo Gallery and the Art Gallery.

If you were in attendance, you may have noticed the presence of a few budding Elliot Davises with handycams. Some friends of ours kindly offered to film the event and make a short… video (I thought I could come up with some cool zeitgeisty word to go there, but I’m hopped up on dental anesthetic and I’m go stupid), which I’m told will be finished in a couple of days, so we’ll put that up here ASAP.

Thanks for coming/reading/listening, get in touch if you liked it, or didn’t, or have a question regarding the use of genetic modifications in modern hairdressing. The next Log Jam is on the 21st of June, which coincidentally coincides with the Fête de la Musique, which couldn’t really have been timed better. Thanks to my dentist for the heads up on that one.

See you there! <3

19.04.09 – LOGJAM 3

April 28th, 2009

A full six weeks after Logjam 2 we here at the Log Collective decided it was about time for us to throw another, and so with that in mind Logjam 3 graced Hamptons with its presence. Picking up where the last jam left off this was an even bigger, and dare I say it, better party. There was a bigger emphasis on collaboration within the art side of things, and a wider array of instruments for everyone to play with. As with the last night everything was recorded, so that you may relive those precious moments again and again.

We had a tonne of photographs from the night and have sifted through the 1000′s of images to give you the best of those. The photographs of the night are available to view here.

Just like the photographs, after collecting all the drawings we could find at the end of the evening we selected the best for your viewing pleasure. These are ready for you to gaze at just here. We apologise if you can’t find a picture that you created, chances are it got lost or we just didn’t see it but we can’t possible put everything up as there was just soooooo much…good show you guys though!

We recorded all the music from the night and have edited it down to lovely song like tit bits for you. Barny and I can be heard, on what is now our world famous LogCast, talking you through the night and some of our favourite songs. We also talk a lot of rubbish on subjects including pickles, fluorescent R&B singers and how clever we are. Enjoy it in two easy to digest parts

The best tracks will soon be available to download as seperate mp3s. If there’s one you particularly want, let us know and we’ll make sure it’s in there.

We hope you all enjoyed coming down and/or listening back to the night. We hope to see you all at the next Logjam (Logjam IV – A New Hope) which takes place at Hamptons on 10th May (NOT FAR OFF NOW!!!). It will be ACES see you there!

Thanks Paul x
